Qadam is built by one person, so every message is read by the person who wrote the code. Email is the fastest way to reach us.
Include your phone model and the version of Qadam (Settings → About) if you can. For a wrong prayer time, add your city and the calculation method you use.
Prayer times
A time looks wrong
Open Settings and check the calculation method and madhab. Qadam supports 14 methods (ISNA, Moonsighting Committee, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian, Kuwait, Qatar, Dubai, Gulf Region, Tehran, Karachi, Singapore, MWL, Turkey, and Custom from 8° to 25°), Standard or Hanafi ʿAṣr, and four high-latitude rules (Auto, Middle of the Night, One-Seventh, Angle-Based). Your local masjid can tell you which method it follows.
Offline
Prayer times and Qibla are computed on your phone and work without a connection, as long as the app has had your location once.
Today and the Hijri date
The Hijri day turns at Maghrib, so the date on the Salam card changes in the evening, not at midnight. On 29 Shaʿbān, Qadam asks after Maghrib whether the moon was sighted, then sets Ramaḍān by your answer.
Exempt days
Mark today exempt from the “Exempt today” footer on Today, or long-press a day on Progress. Exempt days are not counted and not owed, the coach does not ask about them, and no screen asks why. To undo, tap “No longer exempt? Turn off” on the card.
The coach
Starting the trial
The coach is part of Premium. The 7-day trial starts from the Coach tab, needs an account, and runs once per account. It is hidden on exempt days.
When the trial ends
The Coach tab closes again and everything you logged stays. Prayer times, reminders, logging, Progress, Qibla, the calendar and backup remain free.
Changing the focus
The coach suggests one prayer to focus on and offers the next step when the current one holds about 6 days in 7 for about two weeks. Nothing advances automatically. If life gets in the way, your first log back after 5 or more days opens a comeback card.
Backup and moving to a new phone
Settings → Your data → Transfer & backup. Backup is off by default and needs an account. Your record is encrypted on your phone with a six-word phrase before anything is uploaded; write the phrase down somewhere safe. On the new phone, choose “Coming back?” and enter the phrase.
If you lose the phrase, we cannot recover the backup. We only ever hold the encrypted copy.
Reminders
Each reminder has a “Prayed” button. On iPhone it opens Qadam and logs the prayer; on Android it logs in the background. If reminders stop arriving, check that notifications are allowed for Qadam in your phone’s settings and that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing them.
Your account
To delete your account, open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. If you no longer have the app, see Delete your account. Privacy questions go to privacy@theqadamapp.com.
